An integral part for the growth and social integration of individuals leaving the social welfare units, is facilitating their transition through a system of support, guidance and practical advice for adult life.
Mum Institute plans and coordinates a program supporting young adults in their first steps outside the social welfare units, with the goal of empowering and encouraging them to undertake the next steps in their life trajectory. The program is bespoke and tailored to the needs of each individual.
The program’s participants take part in monthly meetings with Mum Institute’s team where they receive their “monthly portfolio” that includes tickets for cinema screenings and theatre plays, library cards, other educational and recreational activities, such as yoga and other cultural happenings.
At the same time Mum Institute organizes seminars in cooking, nutrition and home economics, sexual health workshops and advisory sessions, as well as a work empowerment program that includes mentoring and job shadowing visits at workplaces with the ultimate goal of securing internships and job opportunities for the participants.
