At the core of Mum Institute’s approach is the promotion of expression and creativity through art workshops that activate the imagination and enhance self-confidence. All workshops cover a wide range of artistic activities in order to respond and bring out the different skills and preferences of the participants. Pottery, painting, architecture, stop-motion animation, photography, tie-dye on clothes, scrapbooking-making and collage, polaroid photography and frame-making, and communal gardening are some of the workshops organized by Mum Institute.
The workshops take place under the guidance of internationally acclaimed art professionals, including: artist Jannis Varelas (workshops in painting, collage, portraiture, creativity), artist Vassilis Karouk (workshop in stop-motion animation), artist Yorgos Tserionis (workshops in pottery), ceramicist Loukia Thomopoulou with Sealed Earth Ceramics Studio (workshops in pottery), photographer Sofia Kontouka (workshops in collage, scrapbooking-making and collage, polaroid photography and frame-making) and architect Nefeli Papakyriakopoulou (workshops in interior architecture, communal gardening).
Mum Institute conducts educational activities and workshops, aiming for the participants to grow their knowledge while being encouraged to find new interests that they can use during vocational training. Robotics and programming workshops, cooking, baking, make-up and communal gardening have been some of the seminars organized.
Physical well-being is an integral part of Mum Institute’s approach, organising many athletic and self-awareness activities along with the artistic and educational programs, including: healing and self-knowledge sessions completed at the Horse Centre ‘Hippolysis’, weekly yoga, pilates, circular training and skateboarding classes in collaboration with professional trainers and instructors.
