The teenage girls living under the care of Paidopoli Agia Varvara spent an afternoon at Alibi Gallery, where Mum Institute organized a special event with lots of conversation, art, gifts, pizza and music!\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Firstly, the girls were given a tour of the gallery space and the exhibition \u201cThis is A Vans Art Project\u201d with works created during a series of workshops organized by Vans.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Then, representatives from Vans company presented the vision of their founders and gave a historical overview of the brand focusing on the values of emancipation and empowerment.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Following the presentation, the girls participated in the workshop “Defining my Boundaries” led by play therapist Georgia Gertzou and Mum Institute\u2019s head of program Daphne Politi.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

During the workshop the girls learned what boundaries are, where and when they are necessary and how they can be applied to their everyday lives. Further than that, they participated in a group discussion and engaged in role playing through which they comphended better the ideas discussed. By the end of the workshops they all had a clearer view on how important it is to be able to set their own boundaries, as well as accept the boundaries of others, and in what way they should be applied in order to achieve healthy interpersonal and professional relationships.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

After the workshop, the girls engaged in\u00a0 a creative exercise where they decorated Vans tote bags with paint, patches, glitter while writing empowerment phrases on them with markers.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

At the end, Vans gave sneakers to all the girls, followed by a party with pizza and music!<\/span><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
